Never Judge A Book By Its Cover

Over the last year, I've gotten the same comment over and over and over again. Noami, you are an amazing artist, your designs are great and you've done well at marketing but what do you know about producing a show! *** SIDE NOTE *** It always amazes me when folk want to put you in a category or box to make themselves feel comfortable. Let's talk spiritual matters. You may never fully understand why God orders your steps, why HE has you around certain individuals or even why you may do certain task that may seem insignificant at the time. Could it be because their deposits that the Holy Spirit is allowing you to take in and learn for a latter time.

Producing ILLUMINATE was not, I repeat, was not on my radar for my life at all. But when God is in control nothing is ever the norm. Illuminate came because I saw a need in the community for individuals to use the gifts/talents who were just sitting on them. God gave them to us for a reason and we must use them to glorify Him and help build the the Kingdom (The Holy Spirit does move outside of the church walls).
I have the opportunity to sit and absorb for two great Men of God who were very much skilled in their craft, unknowing to myself I was learning from them.
Sometimes, when you are placed somewhere it is time for you to shut up, hear & learn. Not a time for you to be seen or be heard. Let me clarify something here; I was not in a leadership role while I was around these gentlemen, I did behind the seen things, that most people wouldn't do. (There is NOTHING menial in God's sight - you don't know what you'll receive where you are placed) Allow the Holy Spirit to pour into your life because at that moment you are learning things to be used at a later time. I can't imagine where I would be now had not sat still and learned what I need to. Celebration Of Children would not be in existence.

A drawing in The True Colors Collection is a reflection of God ordering my steps for His purpose. I give thanks to God for meeting Mark Leonard and Jeffrey Nickelson who had great influence in my life and lives of others; My brothers in Christ. I hope that answers the question of how I could produce Illuminate?....Well, I learned.

The story of Green Boy & Girl 1

Green Boy & Boy 1 from The True Colors Collection by Noami Foster including Jeffrey Nickelson

Green Boy & Girl 1 was inspired by Proverbs 18:22 which says
"He who finds a wife finds a good thing And obtains favor from the LORD."
From childhood young girls are influenced to be a home maker by evidence of the toys that are sold (dolls, baking sets, doll houses, etc); but it is not the case with young boys; what you see are cars, GI Joes, now there are XBOXs and such. Very lop sided. If marriage is the end results of being in a relationship, then what must you know, what should you be doing, what questions do you ask while in the relationship. Green Boy & Girl 1 is just the acknowledgement that at some time our little ones, will grow up and find a help-meet suitable and as adults we teach them how to be Men and Women of God prior to them becoming a wife or husband, that is a COVENANT relationship.
A child's love is so pure and honest and as adults we could learn from that innocence. Over time with circumstance, situations that happen to us as individuals can taint what love is and how perceive what love should be. Out of self-protection we made put conditions on our love, on how we give it and that is not God's way. Green Boy & Girl 1 is one of my favorites because it allows adults to remember that unconditional love that children give freely.

We lived love...

Sub-lime..."

Returning again to Inspired Art

I am finishing up a new piece from The Imagine Me Collection that will be auctioned off at Inspire Art March 10th 2011. The Inspired Art Project takes poems written by Denver's youth and asks local artists to create original works inspired by their words.

The Song Inside Of Me from the Imagine Me Collection by Noami Foster for the Inspired Art Program Denver
This is what I created last year 2010
The Song Inside of Me
Inside of me I hear music that could cheer me on when I am sad, and a song that tells me that I could do whatever I want. But my song is not the only song in the world. Sometimes I hear my aunt that past away not to long ago. She is singing to me her favorite song. I sing it to myself when I feel blue, but when I am happy I imagine her talking to me. And that’s the songs I hear.
